Apple introduces a refreshed design and new health features in watchOS 26 that continue Apple's steady push to make the Apple Watch a better fitness companion.

Apple announced several new features coming to WatchOS 26 at its annual software conference, WWDC, on Monday in Cupertino. The features touch everything from Fitness to Messages, and include a major design update across Apple's platforms for a more unified look and naming mechanisms that reflect the year software debuts.

Naturally, if you've got the first Apple Watch SE or an Apple Watch Series 5 or earlier, you'll be stuck on the watchOS update you have installed right now. Thankfully, all Apple Watch Ultra models are still supported, which is just as well given the price tag.
