Power outages in Adams and York counties have left thousands of residents without electricity earlier this week, prompting calls for compensation from a state lawmaker and a push for transparency from the utility company.

Thousands of Met-Ed customers in Adams County experienced power outages over the last several days amid the scorching heat; however, most power has now been restored Met-Ed is reporting that just 22 outages remain in Adams County as of about 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Thousands could be without power for days after a fire damaged an electrical substation in northern Adams County, according to Met-Ed estimates.
