Purvis' Jacob Parker, a Mississippi State signee, was selected No. 573 overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2025 MLB Draft.

Counsell, 22, is the son of former Diamondbacks World Series champion and current Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell. Right-handed hitting Brady Counsell spent three seasons at Minnesota before transferring to Kansas for his senior year.

With the No. 333 selection in the 2025 MLB Draft, the Arizona Diamondbacks selected former Mississippi State Bulldogs left-handed pitcher Luke Dotson. A draft-eligible sophomore, Dotson committed to Texas in June after entering the NCAA transfer portal. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
