A Connecticut couple had an exciting anniversary when they won big playing Powerball. The winner, Joe, has been a CT Lottery player for more than 40 years. His wife Barbara helped him win the Powerball ticket by using her number system.

Following the win, Joe Freeman said he "immediately gave the prize check to his wife," the CT Lottery spokesperson noted.

After playing the lottery for more than four decades, Joe Freeman is now celebrating a big win with his wife of 25 years. The Meriden resident won $100,000 from the Powerball drawing on July 12, the CT Lottery announced in a news release. The ticket was purchased on July 7 in Shelton at a Wheels convenience store for $18.
