Braves slugger Matt Olson sat in the stands 25 years ago when Turner Field hosted the 2000 MLB Home Run Derby.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Truist Park will host the 2025 MLB Home Run Derby on Monday night. Atlanta Braves slugger Matt Olson will be among the eight players who will compete for the title. Olson replaces his teammate Ronald Acuña Jr., who is sitting out due to back tightness.

Olson hit in the 2021 derby while a member of the then Oakland Athletics.Acuña was expected to make his third appearance.Olson is not as popular a player as Acuña, so it's definitely disappointing for the home crowd that Acuña will not be in the event.
