Lowell MacDonald, a forward who launched his NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings in the 1960s, has died. He was 84. MacDonald played in parts of four seasons with the Red Wings from 1961-62 to 1964-65, appearing in 46 games and picking up five goals and six assists.
