A 4.1 magnitude earthquake was reported Saturday morning in eastern Tennessee and it was felt across North America. Thousands of reports flooded the U.S. Geological Survey website, some as far away as Canada,

The quake hit around 9 a.m. local time, about 13 miles from Greenback, Tennessee, which is about 30 miles south of Knoxville, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

A magnitude 4.1 earthquake shook homes in Tennessee and North Carolina on Saturday morning. The earthquake began around 9 a.m. near the Tennessee-North Carolina border. The earthquake could be felt north of Atlanta, Georgia and west of Greenville, S.C. and Asheville, N.C., according to the United States Geological Survey.
