The Athletic's Eric Koreen feels the Golden State Warriors' decision to extend a qualifying offer to restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga has more to do with team-friendly RFA rules than with a desire to keep the forward in the Bay Area.

According to Charania and Slater, Kuminga’s team presented the Warriors with a three-year, $82 million offer that would help the team stay under the second apron, thus ensuring that they maintain the ability to use the taxpayer mid-level exception. For now, it seems that price is too high for the Dubs ... at least without some options in there.

Jonathan Kuminga reportedly wants to join the Sacramento Kings. The restricted free agent has met with Kings brass, and they have offered him a starting role, according to ESPN's Marc Spears.
