The defensive side of the ball still has some glaring holes, including at edge rusher and cornerback. The Commanders lost defensive end Dante Fowler Jr., last year’s sack leader, via free agency. They also let go of defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, safety Jeremy Chinn and cornerback Benjamin St.-Juste.

Washington has four selections left in the 2025 NFL Draft. That’s less than what general manager Adam Peters desires. Still, he can do something about that by trading out of the Commanders’ lone Day 2 choice, the 61st overall pick, for additional selections. Another consideration: Use the pick for a defensive end, cornerback or running back.
