World Wrestling Entertainment announced Saturday that its annual Wrestlemania event is returning to Las Vegas in 2026 instead of New Orleans. WWE last month told New Orleans sports and tourism officials that the event slated for April 2026 in New Orleans would be canceled, leaving a big hole in the tourism calendar .

WWE announced that WrestleMania 42 is set for April 18 and 19, marking the second consecutive year the marquee event will be held in Las Vegas. It will be the first time since 1988 and 1989 that WrestleMania is held in the same venue two years in a row.

Instead, the city will now host other major WWE and UFC events as part of a new multi-year deal between TKO and the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation.
