Report: Ex-Red Sox World Series champion finalizing minor league deal with AL team
Former longtime Boston Red Sox reliever Ryan Brasier is reportedly finalizing a minor league deal with the Texas Rangers. MassLive.com’s Chris Cotillo reported the news late Friday morning and Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News provided further details about Brasier’s contract.
Veteran reliever and two-time World Series champion with the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers is reportedly set to join the Texas Rangers, aiming to add bullpen depth.
Brasier a two-time World Series champion with the Boston Red Sox in 2018 and the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2024, spent last season mostly on the injured list with the Chicago Cubs. He was still reasonably effective when healthy, however, and entering his age-38 season, he'll be joining his hometown team.
