The Bengals' approach to free agency has been underwhelming at best. They simply haven't added enough talent to their roster. While things look bleak, it's worth pointing out that there is still plenty of quality talent available.

So far, the Bengals have primarily focused on locking down their own with names like tight end Mike Gesicki and defenders Joseph Ossai and B.J. Hill. Newcomers T.J. Slaton and linebacker Oren Burks on the defensive side of the ball are rotational players at best. Big needs like offensive line have gone unaddressed.

Free agency sets the direction for where the Bengals will go in the NFL draft at the end of April. Based off what needs the team fills in free agency, it’s easier to project what players and positions the Bengals could target in the draft.
