All four interior courtyard fountains have been delivered; one last week, and three on Monday. They are the final pieces that were part of the design of the original building.

LINCOLN — Four courtyard fountains at the Nebraska Capitol are bubbling and flowing, sheets of water cascading over the edges of their bronze bowls.

Nebraska officials are set to celebrate the completion of the state Capitol's courtyard fountains, a piece of the building's original design that went unfinished for 85 years.

Each of the four courtyards has fountains and columns that resemble those on the outside of the building. There are tables and chairs where employees can have lunch or work on nice days.

Capitol Preservation Architect Tom Kaspar contributed to the design of the new courtyard fountains that are being installed this week and next.
