Former Israeli hostage Ohad Ben Ami tells CBS News that two years after Hamas' rampage, in his mind, he's still underground with the remaining captives.

Liran Berman, whose twin brothers Gali and Ziv Berman are hostages who may still be alive, spoke to ABC News Live on Tuesday.

After their loved ones were kidnapped in Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack that sparked the war, the families of hostages have been thrust into a thankless battle for their freedom.

"If you only cry when one side's babies die, it means your moral compass is broken, and therefore your humanity is broken," Rachel Goldberg-Polin told CBS News.

The ribbons, which symbolise calls for a return of the hostages taken by Hamas on 7 October 2023, were put up in Muswell Hill, north London, ahead of the two-year anniversary of the attacks in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 hostages taken.

The 22-year-old activist was among 437 detained after Israeli forces stopped a flotilla with aid bound for Gaza.

Jessica Clotfelter was one of the veterans aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, a fleet of 42 boats heading to Gaza in an attempt to break the Israeli naval blockade and deliver life-saving medicine and food to Palestinians suffering from famine.
