LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles County leaders want to prohibit law enforcement officers from concealing their identities while on duty, a response to recent immigration raids during which some federal agents refused to identify themselves or covered their faces.

Los Angeles County officials are calling for an ordinance to prohibit law enforcement officers from concealing their identities through the use of masks while on duty.

"When law enforcement officers conceal their identities, they create confusion, incite fear, and undermine public trust," the motion states.
