A bill named after Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman aims to increase penalties for felony accessory to murder, following the early release of Ronnie Busick.

On Wednesday, the State House passed House Bill 1001, also called Lauria and Ashley's Law, that would add accessory to murder to the list of crimes requiring a prisoner to serve 85 percent of their sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

A bill has been approved in the State House that adds accessory to murder to the list of crimes where offenders have to serve at least 85-percent of a prison sentence. The sponsors of House Bill 1001 call it “Lauria and Ashley’s Law”,
