Sir — While re-reading Thakurmar Jhuli by Dakshina­ran­jan Mitra Majumdar, I was struck by some of the less obvious lessons that eluded us as children. Take, for instance, the tale, "Sukhu aar Dukhu".
Of the myriad magical illustrations in Dakshinaranjan Mitra Majumdar’s Thakur­mar Jhuli, the cutest is the one of the demons called Khokkos (picture), who resemble spiny felines wearing diapers.
