Thousands of Met-Ed customers in Adams County experienced power outages over the last several days amid the scorching heat; however, most power has now been restored Met-Ed is reporting that just 22 outages remain in Adams County as of about 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Thousands could be without power for days after a fire damaged an electrical substation in northern Adams County, according to Met-Ed estimates.

Adams County Met-Ed customers now have power back in their homes. Although people may be feeling relief from the heat, some people might be feeling financial discomfort. A spokesperson with the company says Met-Ed does not plan to reimburse or compensate customers for the loss of power because the outages were caused by an equipment failure.
