Dr. Vinay Prasad, the chief scientific officer at the Food and Drug Administration, has resigned after only three months in the position.

Vinay Prasad, who headed the U.S. FDA division in charge of vaccines and was also chief medical and scientific officer, has abruptly left the agency.  Endpoints News reported on Thursday that the FDA's newly appointed top drug regulator,

Professor Robin May is stepping down after completing a five-year term in the role, and will take up a new position as interim chief scientific officer at the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). The Food Standards Agency has said it will launch an open recruitment campaign shortly to appoint a permanent successor.
