The National Weather Service urged people to avoid travel if a flash flood warning was in place for their area.
At 5:31 p.m. on Saturday, the NWS Raleigh NC issued a flash flood warning in effect until 8:45 p.m. The warning is for Alamance, Guilford, Orange and Person counties.
The NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA released a flash flood warning at 2:47 p.m. on Friday in effect until 6 p.m. for Los Angeles.
“If you’ve never seen water rise in front of you in minutes, it’s hard to conceive of how quickly that can happen—and how quickly your life and property can be at risk,” said Rachel Hogan Carr, executive director of the Nurture Nature Center, a nonprofit focused on flood-risk communication.

The warning was in place for San Bernardino County. "The heavy rain has ended in the Primm area. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures. A Flood Watch remains in effect until 11 p.m. for portions of northwest Arizona and Nevada," says the NWS Las Vegas NV.
