Social Security checks will arrive on time this July — but some recipients may soon be in for a surprise. Starting later this month, the Social Security Administration plans to withhold up to 50% of monthly benefits from people it says were overpaid and haven’t started paying the money back.

The SSA’s official schedule of Social Security benefit payments for July 2025, will be paid on the following days based on birthdate: July 23: If you’re born between day 21–31 of any given month. Similar to the aforementioned, the Social Security payment schedule for 2025 is based on your date of birth.
