Authorities have identified Carolyn Sanger as the Topsfield mother of four who died while hiking at the Purgatory Chasm State Reservation.

She was hiking with three of her children and other family members when she fell approximately 50 to 75 feet, police said.

Officials on Thursday identified the Topsfield mother of four who fell to her death while she was hiking with several of her children at Sutton’s Purgatory Chasm on Wednesday.
