President Trump spoke in the White House press briefing room Thursday morning in the aftermath of the deadly plane crash in the Potomac River in Washington, D.C.

Karoline Leavitt is the youngest person to serve as White House press secretary and was Donald Trump’s national press secretary during much of the 2024 presidential race.

Trump acknowledged it was too soon to draw conclusions but nonetheless moved to assign blame. Trump said he had no evidence to support his claims that diversity initiatives and hiring preferences played a role in the crash.
