Doctors in India say 270 bodies have been recovered from the site of Thursday's plane crash in Ahmedabad. The London-bound aircraft crashed into a residential area shortly after take-off killing all but one of the 242 passengers and crew members, a 40-year-old British man.

“The final death toll in the plane crash now stands at 260,” Rakesh Joshi, head of Ahmedabad’s main state hospital, told AFP today. “All the human remains found so far from the crash site have been identified and handed over to their families,” Joshi added.

A focus on the Boeing 787’s fuel switches in a preliminary assessment raised questions about the pilots’ actions, but much is still unknown about Flight 171.
