NASA's giant new moon rocket is on its way to the launch pad. The 322-foot Space Launch System rocket began its 1 mph creep from Kennedy Space Center's Vehicle Assembly Building on Saturday morning.
The journey in Florida will be only 4 miles, but it’s expected to last between 8-10 hours, NASA officials said Friday.
NASA is targeting no earlier than Saturday, Jan. 17, to begin the multi-hour trek from the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Pad 39B.
