Auburn retained its spot at No. 1 in the AP Top 25 men's college basketball poll Monday despite its first loss in SEC play this weekend but paid the price by losing its unanimous status among voters.

After both Auburn and Duke lost this past Saturday, the Alabama Crimson Tide are on the rise in the latest men's college basketball AP Poll Top 25.

Florida rose to No. 3 after beating Auburn, meaning three of the top five teams came from the SEC. Nine total SEC teams were ranked this week, with Texas A&M, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Missouri and Mississippi State rounding out the top 25 behind Auburn, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.

Auburn held the top spot in the AP Top 25 for the fifth straight week, while No. 2 Alabama moved up a spot and was just nine points behind the rival Tigers.

Auburn barely edged out rival Alabama to remain No. 1 and Florida jumped three places to give the Southeastern Conference the top three spots in the Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday.
