The model married Joel in 1985, and the two welcomed their only child, Alexa, later that year. Brinkley said that she tried to make her relationship with Joel work, but there was one thing that got in the way.

The model, who starred in the music video for Joel's "Uptown Girl," said that she tried to save their marriage, adding, "I wanted it to work."
