Chicago police said the officers were responding to a call for service in a marked vehicle heading northbound on Central Avenue when they lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over in the street.

A man was shot by Chicago police early Saturday morning after allegedly striking an officer with a vehicle following a fight outside a business in Chicago's Belmont Cragin neighborhood, officials said.

Chicago police's Investigative Response Team and the Civilian Office of Police Accountability are investigating.

At least nine people, mostly teens, were wounded in weekend shootings across the city. The ages of the victims range from 17 to 34. In the first shooting of the weekend, a man of unknown age arrived at a firehouse around 8:31 p.m. in the 1300 block of East 67th Street after being shot, prompting a police response.

The shooting happened at about 11:22 a.m. in the 200 block of E. 75th Street, Chicago police said. A man, 34, was sitting in a vehicle was he was approached by a man. The man got into the vehicle of the victim, police said. After an altercation, the man pulled out a gun and shot the 34-year-old.

Chicago Police issued a burglary alert for Bronzeville after a series of break-ins, advising businesses to enhance security and report suspicious activity.

A 4-year-old boy was hurt when he accidentally fell out of an apartment window on Memorial Day. His mother says her safety concerns about their home have not been addressed.
