Kentucky took down No. 17 Oklahoma 7-2 on Sunday to finish off its first SEC series sweep of the season. The ‘Cats improve to 28-20 (13-14) and have put themselves in tremendous position to make their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

The Sooners jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but then immediately gave that back as the Wildcats controlled the tempo the rest of the way.

Kentucky took an early punch on Saturday but responded with a vengeance to beat Oklahoma for the second day in a row.

Rotation stalwart Ben Cleaver earned his sixth victory of the season on the mound with 6.0 gutsy innings, five different Wildcats had two hits and Tyler Bell and Luke Lawrence hit back-to-back home runs to help put the Sooners to rest.

The Sooners left 10 runners stranded and a crooked third inning ended up being the difference. The Wildcats had five hits and four runs in the third and did enough to hold the Sooners off for a 4-3 win.
