Investigators say a plane crash in San Diego that likely killed six people happened as the private plane approached an airport whose runway lights were out in heavy fog.

San Diego officials said at least two people are dead after the plane crashed in a neighborhood, causing multiple residences and cars to catch fire.

All six people aboard a small plane that crashed in a San Diego neighborhood were killed, but nobody on the ground was seriously injured, an official for the National Transportation Safety Board confirmed on Friday,
