Portland will celebrate the LGBTQ+ community this weekend with its annual Pride waterfront festival and parade happening July 19-20.

According to its website, the first local Pride Northwest celebration was in 1976. It has been held at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park ever since. Though Pride month is usually June, starting in 2023, Pride Northwest began celebrating in July due to competing holidays such as Juneteenth, Father’s Day and the Delta Park Pow Wow.
