Ukrainian authorities say a Russian drone and missile attack on Ukraine’s capital killed at least six people including a 6-year-old boy.

"There is preliminary information that there were rocket-powered Shahed-type drones," said Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

The Iskander-K cruise missiles used by Russia to attack Kyiv on 31 July were launched at ultra-low altitudes, making their detection and interception more challenging. Ukrainian air defence managed to destroy just three out of eight of these missiles.
