Mets closer Edwin Diaz retired the side in order in the bottom of the ninth for his 10th save, striking out Aaron Judge for the final out.

Soto's return went as expected, with the Yankee Stadium raining down boos and some expletives toward the Mets' new right fielder. Soto gave a the crowd a salutatory tip of his helmet, and proceeded to walk three times in five at-bats.
