Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will host a Canada-U.S. economic summit in Toronto on Friday, days after President Donald Trump said he would hold off on deploying his threatened tariffs against Canada for a month.

Trudeau, who is still prime minister in a caretaker capacity until a new one is elected, has not imposed 100% tariffs on Teslas as of this writing. He did announce a 25% tariff on American electric vehicles,

Even as Canada’s prime minister announced more than $100 billion in retaliatory tariffs, he made clear that he was imposing them reluctantly.
