The incident happened just after 5 p.m. in the area of Torrey Pines State Beach, near S Camino Del Mar. SkyFOX flew over the scene and captured rescue crews assisting an individual onto a stretcher.

Torrey Pines Lodge, completed in 1923, was commissioned by La Jolla philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps and is now the ranger station and visitor center for the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve.

Rescue crews used ropes and an emergency services helicopter Friday to help an injured man off a Torrey Pines-area cliff where he had fallen and gotten trapped.
