President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” will pump tens of billions of dollars into law enforcement, delivering an unprecedented bonanza for the agencies behind the US administration’s crackdown on undocumented immigrants.

Administration officials say the new facility will speed up deportations, but local politicians and environmental groups have raised concerns.

As part of his goals to deport as many undocumented immigrants as possible, President Trump has instructed Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to open “Alligator Alcatraz,” an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center in the Florida Everglades.
