Police are praising the heroic actions of a local pilot who confronted and stopped a teenager who entered the Texarkana Regional Airport on Tuesday brandishing guns and demanding a plane.

A pilot retrieved a gun and disarmed the suspect before officers arrived at the regional airport in Texarkana, Ark.

Before Texarkana police arrived, a local pilot who had his own firearm reportedly ordered the suspect on the ground and disarmed the minor.

The airline's founder and CEO, David Neeleman, said they’ve seen high demand in Burlington and "expect that to continue increasing with this great new route to Charleston."
