La Crosse police say they continue to follow up on information in Heinz's death, but that criminal conduct wasn't involved.

The La Crosse Police Department announced Friday that preliminary autopsy results show no evidence of criminal conduct in the death of Eliotte Heinz. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities await final autopsy results. "Final autopsy results will not be completed for several months,” police said in a public statement.

Eliotte Heinz's body was found in the Mississippi River near Brownsville, Minn., after a three-day search. La Crosse Police Department is investigating the cause of death.
