The city of Lexington is in full celebration mode as it marks its 250th birthday, with a special focus on the culinary treasures within the community throughout the month.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man was found shot to death on Darien Drive Tuesday afternoon. According to police, officers were dispatched around 1:25 p.m. to a home in the 1800 block of Darien Drive for a report of an unresponsive person.

The Marketplace is set to open in spring 2026, joining existing locations on Beaumont Centre Circle and Richmond Road.
