Former Tennessee men's basketball player Jordan Gainey made his professional debut in the NBA Summer League on Sunday. Gainey totaled two assists, one steal and one block in seven minutes for Phoenix in its, 98-80, loss to Atlanta in Las Vegas, Nevada. He did not attempt a field goal or a free throw in the contest.

Jackson (Michigan State) is now under contract through 2029-30, after renegotiating the final year of his current deal and getting a raise to $33 million for the coming season. The extension kicks in in 2026-27, starting with a salary of $46.2 million.
