Chennai International Airport (IATA: MAA, ICAO: VOMM) is an international airport serving the city of Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, India. It is located in Tirusulam in Chengalpattu district, in the Greater Chennai Metropolitan Area around 21 km (13 mi) southwest of the city centre.

Designed by Gensler, Frederic Schwarz Architects and the Creative Group, the project comprises a new domestic terminal, a future international terminal, and a roadway and pedestrian link connecting all four terminals at the airport.

The design of the airport is inspired by the winged form of a bird, symbolizing freedom and movement, and features twin-curved roofs interspersed with skylights and exposed ceilings with hot-bended circular sections, a first in India1.

Creative group designed the Chennai Airport with a unique concept of winged form of a bird in which twin-curved roofs interspersed with skylights and exposed ceiling with hot bended circular sections were used for the first time in India.

At the moment all international flights operate from this new Integrated terminal at Chennai Airport.
