St Kilda is the only dual UNESCO World Heritage Site in the UK, one of only 39 in the world. The archipelago consists of the main island of Hirta, along with Dun, Soay and Boreray, and the sea stacks Levenish, Stac an Armin and Stac Lee – the highest in Britain. The islands are internationally recognised for their birdlife, home to nearly one million seabirds including the largest colony of puffins in the UK.
