Timothy Treadwell was an American environmental activist best known for his intense and controversial relationship with grizzly bears in Alaska. Born in 1957, Treadwell spent more than 13 summers living among wild grizzly bears in Katmai National Park. He believed he had a special bond with them and dedicated his life to protecting them from poachers and helping people understand their beauty.
